SIR ISAAC ISAACS' TRIBUTE
United Press Association—By Electric Tclograpli—Copyright. SYDNEY, November 19. "I wish to pay tribute to the unknown journalist who penned the terse, true, and telling aphorism that the greatest stand for liberty the world has ever known has been the inkstand," said the Governor-General, Sir Isaac Isaacs, at a luncheon tendered to him by the Australian Journalists' Association.
"The Press of the British Commonwealth of Nations, and nowhere more so than in Australia," he added, "is a powerful protector of individual rights, the sure guardian of democracy, and a safeguard which is so very important to true understanding between nations, and a firm citadel of loyalty to King and country."
