DEVELOPMENT OF SCHEME

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NELSON, This Day.

Mr. Herbert Everett, chairman of the Waimea Power Board, was today advised by Mr. \V. T. Strand, of the Hume Pipe Company, that his London company had authorised him to instruct engineers immediately to proceed with the development of the Cobb River hydro-electric scheme. This will supply Nelson City and district with bulk energy on similar terms to the Government stations, with full protection of the public interests.
