Dr. O. L. Eaton, of Christchurch, will leaye for China next yeat as a medical missionary attached to the, Presbyterian Mission Hospital at Kong Chuen, Can-' ton.
Mr. T. W. Mitchell, of New South Wales, a well-known -ski-runner, arrived at Bluff from Melbourne by the Marama. Mr. Mitchell expects to spend some considerable time' in the Dominion.

Dr. Mill, of Dunedin, was a passenger from the south,this morning. The Hon. A. S. Adams and- Mrs. Adams returned to New Zealand on the Wanganella today after a^tour abroad. Mr. Adams was formerly a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand. ■ ■

Dr. and Mrs. R. Burns Watson of Invercargill, with their two sons, wer» among the passengers on the-Wanga-nella from Sydney this morning, Mr. and Mrs. Morton Paterson and their family, of Wellington, who have been on a world tour, returned by the Wanganella from Sydney today. A motion of sympathy with Mr. D. Macaskill, the senior inspector, in the loss of his wife was passed at the meeting of the Wellington Education Board today.
Sir Clutha Mackenzie left by the express for Auckland today.
