SUBSIDY SCHEME

DETAILS ANNOUNCED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day.

The Minister of Employment (the Hon. S. G. Smith) announced today particulars of farm buildings and machinery which would be eligible for subsidy under the Unemployment Board's scheme for assisting in endeavours to improve dairy produce quality in conjunction with the creation of employment.

Details are as follows: —Woolsheds, implement sheds, manure sheds, haysheds, calfhouses, stables, honey houses, fruit cool stores, fruit packing sheds, poultry farm buildings, and the concreting of yards and installation of water supply.

The subsidy is 8 per cent, if the work is done by contract or engaged labour, otherwise 10 per cent, of the net invoice cost of materials. Equipment is eligible if new and of New Zealand manufacture. The rate of subsidy will be £2 for the first £10, increasing by Is 4d in the £ up to £100, thereafter 8 per cent, up to £200 and 5 per cent, in excess of £200.

Applications will now be accepted, those for buildings to be forwarded to nearest officer of the Department of Agriculture and those in respect of equipment alone to certifying officers.
