BLIND STUDENTS' BAND.
Music-lovers are reminded of the concert of the Blind Students' Band from the Institute at Auckland, to be held at the Town Hall tonight at 8 o'clock. This fine military band was formed in 1927 and by conscientious concentrated effort in their work the members have welded themselves into a particularly fine musical combination. In charge of the band is Lieutenant G. W. Bowes, who received his training in the Army, and was a member of the Bth Hussars Band, subsequently coming to New Zealand and > weilding the baton for the Wellington Tramways Band. An adjunct of the band is a fine dance orchestra which enjoys engagement at the leading functions in Auckland, including Gov- , eminent House. Solo items will com- ■■ prise organ, cornet, and xylophone, 11 and the Blind Band will combine in ', concerted items with the combined 1 bands of Wellington, which are lending '• their aid. Admission to the hall li r Is, and full proceeds arc being fle* voted to the work of the blind. The ar> . vangement of the concert is in th» ■■ hands of the Wellington Red Cross Society.
