ANOTHER CAPTURE?
RUGBY LEAGUE
OFFER TO TARANAKI PLAYER
It seems very probable that the Rugby League code will make another capture if the terms requested by the Taranaki representative Rugby centre three-quarter, J, Sullivan, are accepted. An inquiry has been made by A. Faiwasser, a former Taranaki and Hawke's Bay Rugby Union representative, and Maori AU Black, asking the terms on which Sullivan would be prepared to play Rugby League in France.. The Taranaki player- has requested the usual payments and if they are accepted he states that he will have no hesitation in fulfilling the engagement.- He expects, if a iayourable reply is received/ to leave for France within the next few weeks.
No club was named,, in the" cable from Faiwasser, but it is believed that the inquiry was on behalf of the Bordeaux Club of which Faiwasser is the playihg-coach. Also mentioned in the cable was G. Harrison, the exTaranaki and Maori representative forward. Harrison is, however, already en route to England undervengagement to a London: club.,.
