Difficulty is often experienced in obtaining coloured pearl buttons in various sizes for trimming home-made frocks, and it is a quick and simple plan to meet the need by dyeing ordinary while ones at home, states an exchange. ENTHUSIASTIC AUDIENCE

A most delightful time was spent last night by those who attended the piano recital, which was given by Miss Frances Revere in Nimmo's Hall. The audience, which included many of the well-known musical people of Wellington, was very enthusiastic. Miss Revere, who comes from Feilding, is an exceptionally promising pianist, possessing natural talent. She is a Fellow of the Trinity College, London, and for the last five years lias been under Miss Imelda Fama's tuition. Miss Revere wore a picture frock of black silk taffeta, and Miss Fama, who presented her pupil, was in black chiffon velvet trimmed with chinchilla fur. At the end of the "performance Miss Revere received several lovely bouquets, and Miss Fama was also presented with a bouquet. Each, received many congratulaions. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. E. Bramley, Mrs. George Bucklin, Mrs. M. J. Goodson, Mr. W. M.
