Mr. W. Gilbert presided over a meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre last night.
The resignation of Mr. G. H. Deare (Hutt) as a member of the centre was [received. Mr. Deare wrote stating! 'that he was leaving on a trip to Australia and on his return would reside iin Auckland. It was stated that Mr. TJeare was in poor health, and the hope was expressed that he would have a sneedy recovery. The New Zealand Bowling Association advised that at the annual tournament the singles competition would be .played under similar conditions as last pear. thus ensuring at least five games Ifor every comnetitor. The pairs'tour- . nament had been slightly altered, three games to be played on the first day and two on the second day. It was decided to extend an 'invitation to the Governor-General, Lord Galway, to be present on Veterans' i Day.
