A small boy named Ray Lyall Todd, aged 7 year>, had the unenviable experience of spending Monday night alone in the bush not very far from his parents' home near Dannevirke, states "The Post's" correspondent. Shortly after 5.30 p.m. on Monday, evening he went to gather kindling wood on the bank of the Tamaki stream, but did not return. A search was conducted without success, and it was believed he had fallen into the stream. The police commenced dragging operations without result, and it was with great relief to the stricken parents that the lad was later discovered in a dazed condition. It seenis he fell and struck his head on some obstacle.
