NOMINATION DECLINED

(Ey Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, This Day. Following strong representations to Mr. R. F. Gambrill to accept nomination for the Gisborne seat in the National Government interests, Mr. W. D. Lysnar, Independent candidate, reversing his previous announcement, intimated that under no circumstances would he support the Labour Party to defeat the Government. Apart from Mr. Lysnar's altitude, Mr. Gambrill declined nomination.
