Five persons were burned to death when fire destroyed the Wimpole Street home of Dr. Philip Franklin.
A milkman noticed smoke coming from the top floor early this morning. He gave the alarm and dashed back to the house in time to see an elderly woman lean from an upper window shouting "For God's sake get the fire brigade." She then fell back into the flames.
The victims were Mrs. Franklin, wife of the doctor. Miss Brook, her the cook, the housemaid, and the kilchenmaid.
Dr. Franklin was stayir.s; at Bonn End. ' - ■
