INCREASED INVESTMENTS
After a spell of very unseasonable weather, a welcome change came on Saturday for the opening day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Metropolitan Meeting at Riccarton, and the sun burst warmly through the light clouds before the racing began. The track was very green, an unusual feature at this time of year, and the going was dead. There was an excellent attendance. The totalisator handled £41,346 10s, compared with £36,322 10s on Cup day last year, an increase of £5024. Results were:—
