KEELERS BECALMED

Yachtsmen found conditions on Port Nicholson on Saturday a little too placid for their liking. A large number of yachts of all classes started in the races conducted oy the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht. Club in a light southerly, which soon died away to a patchy calm.- The- centreboarders found enough wind to bring them home, though ' slowly, but the keel yachts were at times almost becalmed and only one, the Ailsa, was able to I finish. She won the first-class keelers' race. The. second-class keelers' race will, have .to be r.esailed. All the first-class centreboarders fin- J ished, in -a ■ bunch, and that spoke I volumes for the excellence of the handicapping and the skill of the sailing.
