STUDIO DANCE
A HAPPY EVENING
Miss Gwenethe Walshe's studio, the "Evening Post" building, housed a happy crowd' of young people on Saturday; evening when pupils and their friends attended the final of a series of most enjoyable studio dances. A programme which included varied novelty and competition numbers was thoroughly enjoyed.
Miss Gwenethe "Walshe wore an'attractive .dance-frock of white : voile spotted with Naples blue, the high neckline cut to the waist at the back and outlined with a cascade flounce of Naples blue. A knife-pleated cape of the same material was worn. Miss Moira Walshe wore a frock of black satin with a pink-lined sash and shoulder-spray of pink carnations. Miss Shirley Walshe, who with Mr Ray Moore gave demonstrations of the modern waltz and the quickstep, wore a picture frock of ivory stiffened net with trails of gold leaves appliqued on the full, trained skirt.
Vases of mauve irises made graceful decorations in the ballroom, while large bowls of gelder roses and poppies formed centre-pieces for the buffet supper tables. Delicious savoury refreshments were served. Excellent dance music was provided by an orchestra who were generous with "encores." The winners of novelty dances were Miss Ruth Baker and Mr. G. H. L. Hume ("spinning wheel" dance), Miss J. Furnie and Mr. D G Robinson ; ("roulette Monte Carlo) Miss Lola Tingey and Mr. G. d! Feist ("circles").
