Big River Gold Mines reports for week ended November 7 as follows:— South stope: Stoping progressing. The length of reef in this section is shortening rapidly. North winze: Sunk 3ft, total 39ft. Reef still strong in bottom of winze and assuming a more vertical dip. North of old workings: Commences driving here, to pick up any extension of lode to the north of the old workings. North level: Stone pinched in face. Stoping over timber on reef 2ft 6in wide. Shaft: Staging will be again lowered in the course of a day or two. Will then be in No. 5 level chamber. Sent to battery, 56 tons stone. SYLVIA. Sylvia Mines Development, Limited, Thames, reports:—The recent crushing of 73 tons of ore at the Thames School of Mines battery from a drive oft No. 2 winze from No. 4 level gave a lip assay of lldwt gold and 3oz Bdwt silver a -ton. Over 4J tons of concentrates were obtained for shipment to AusI tralia, of a value of £50 a ton at curj rent prices, and exclusive of the value Jof the base metal content. Very rich ore is again being met with driving south from No. 1 winze. Grab samples taken from 11 trucks containing approximately, six; tons of ore gave an assay value of/7oz ldwt of gold and 19oz 9dwt of tilver a ton. valued at £60 a ton on [current prices. WbRKSOP. Worksop Extended Gold Dredging Co., Ltd., reports the following is the official return for week ended November B:—Yield, 104oz; hours dredged, 133; yards dredged, 10,600. GILLESPIE'S BEACH. . A telegram received today by the New Zealand Stock Exchange Association from Gillespie's Beach reads:— Wash up 390z lOdwt for 132 hours.
