WITHIN THE EMPIRE
■ Empire purchases of British goods during the first nine months of the year were £14,700,000 more than in the same period last year, according to the London "Daily Express." Comparative totals of exports to British countries—given in the October issue of the Board of Trade Journalwere £133,100.000 in the 1934 nine months and £147,800,000 in 1935.
•• imports from British, countries amounted to £207,900,000, an increase of £6,100,000. . Foreign countries increased their purchases from Great Britain by £8.100,000 to a total of £164,000,000. Great Britain bought . £332,500,000 worth of goods from them. This was £3,500,000 less than last year.
