WOELD PEACE
PRESBYTERIAN INTEREST
The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church received a deputation today from the League of. Nations Union.
Mr. Walter Nash, the leader, explained that the object of the deputation's visit was to place before the Assembly the proposal of the League of Nations Union and to ask the Assembly to instruct and inspire the members of the Church to help to make its ideal possible.
Mr. Nash paid tribute to the great contribution made by the Presbyterian Church in the past towards the cause of peace, making special mention of the work of the late Dr. Gibb and the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson.
Mr. Nash said that if all churches made the same contribution towards the understanding of the League's purpose as had been made in the past by the Presbyterian Church its purpose would be better known and better accomplished.
The Assembly, by resolution, assured the League of Nations Union of its interest in and appreciation of its work and of the Assembly's support to the League in its efforts to preserve world peace.
The Moderator, the Very Rev. H. H. Barton, M.A., said there were few subjects which stirred them so profoundly as that which Mr. Nash had dealt with.
