"I consider the DHB6 machines eminently suited to New Zealand flying conditions," said Mr. B. A. Blythe, who arrived from England today, and has been engaged as pilot to Union Airways. He had had 500 hours' flying experience in that type of machine, he added. ■
Mr. Blythe has been flying for over seven years, five years of which he spent in the Royal-Air Force and the remainder in commercial aviation.
. One first offender for drunkenness was:fined 10s by Mr. W. H. Coy, J.P., at a sitting of the Mount Cook Police Court today.
E. Johnston and Co., auctioneers, will sell household furnishings at Main Road, Upper Hutt (opp. Station Street), tomorrow, at 1 p.m. They will also sell household furnishings at No. 94 Austin Street, at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow.

Francis Patrick Mulligan, a miner, aged 40, .was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment for his third offence of drunkenness when he appeared before Mr. E. D. Mosley, SM in the Magistrate's Court today. For damaging a cell utensil valued at 5s 7d, he was convicted and ordered to pay the cost of the utensil, in default three days' imprisonment.
