POWER FOR WAIROA
COUNCIL AND BOARD

WAIROA, This Day.
Recently the Wairoa Borough Council advised the local power board that it was unable to agree to the terms suggested lor a new.contract and cancelled the arrangements for purchase. At today's meeting' of the power board, after a short discussion in committee., the following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That the Wairoa Borough Council be advised that as from January 1 they will have no contract with the board, consequently the board will be unable to supply from that date unless a contract-is entered-into in the terms as previously advised to this end."
It is understood in the event of this extreme action being found necessary that the board will undertake'to supply essential services such as the hospital, dairy-factory, etc.
