Although Plato stumbled at the start, he leaped to the lead from Greek Shepherd. -Cinnoull, Heritage, Lowenberg, and Romp Along. At the mile the leading positions were the same, with Kinnoull and Greek Shepherd fighting hard for second place. With four furlongs to go Romp Along sprinted hard and moved up from last almost •-'to' the first position, but could not hold it, and Lowenberg, finishing speedily . on the outside, ran home and won narrowly from Greek Shepherd; "with Heritage third.
