ABOUT LOU ROBERTSON
It was in the trotting sport that the I former New Zealander Lou Robertson, the trainer of Marabou and Feldspar, first became prominent, says a Christchurch writer. He was a successful trainer and driver of pacers and trottevs early in the century before he and his brother Andrew went to Victoria, where they became identified with the Allendale Stock Farm, where Messrs. A. and G. Tye.bred many good horses. Later, when the Tyes turned their attention to gallopers, Lou Robertson soon demonstrated that he was quite as proficient in that department as he had been with pacers. The horses he trained included the imported mare Hamburg Belle, winner of the Adelaide Cup. For different owners Robertson has continued to turn out many good winners. Lately he has had among his patrons Mr. A. T. Creswick, Victoria's highly-i'espected veteran breeder and owner, and this successful association culminated with Feldspars Derby triumph on Saturday, and Marabou's Melbourne Cup victory for anj other patron.
