Last week no matches were played on account of the wet weather, the round thus missed will be completed at the end of the season. The association matches were extended for a further week and will be played within the next few days. This week fortunately has proved that summer is not far away and the lawns have been thronged with enthusiastic players anxious to get-in some, practice before the more serious matches commence. On Tuesday the weather was ideal and the second round was completed, with the following results:— A Grade. Island Bay v. In presenting the guest of honour with a crystal bowl from her fellow members, Mrs. Winchconfb, the president, referred to Mrs. McCarty's loyalty and generosity to the club; and also to the good work she had done as a member of the committee for some years. Mrs. King, Wellington, has returned home after spending a few weeks at Castlepoint. Mrs. A. Ramsay, of Wellington,- who has been for some time in Ohingaiti, is now home again. -Mrs. A. Y. Lees, of.
