AN AWKWARD QUESTION
Questioned at Mirarhar last night as to the attitude he would take in the event of a no-confidence motion an the National Government,' Mr. W. Duncan. Democrat candidate' for Wellington East, said he would vote to put it out,: but he would not vote to put Labour in. •■.-..•
A voice: You can't sit on the fence all the time. • >
Mr. Duncan: But we will' be there then. ■
The voice: Oh, no you won't. Mr. Duncan: We would not put Labour into power. We would have a leader—Mr. Hislop will be there, arid we would have to follow him just'the same way as the Labour members follow their leader. If we had the balance of power— . '. . . ;
A voice: You are just rattled. . Mr. Duncan: You want me to say this; would we come to the country again? I say, "Yes, too right we would."
A voice: I think one or two portfolios would meet the case. Mr. Duncan: No, they would not. We would cqme to you people again.
