Mr. Malcolm Leadbetter, M.A. Crions.), first assistant at St. Andrew's College, Christchurch, has been appointed rector of Waimate High School. He is 32 years of age and has had fifteen years' teaching experience. Mr. Leadbetter secured first place for New Zealand in the degree examinations in pure mathematics and physics. He is also a notable athlete, having been nominated for the Olympic Games in 1928.
