RAIL-CAR SERVICE

GENERAL MANAGER'S HOPE

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

MASTERTON, This Day,

"With the introduction of the rail cars on the Wairarapa line we hope that we will be able to deal with passenger and goods traffic in a much more satisfactory manner," remarked the General Manager of Railways (Mr. G. H. Mackley), speaking to a gathering of business men last night. There would, he added, be a definite limit to the amount of goods to be carried on the rail cars, which would be essentially a passenger service. "We hope," he said, "that they will be our salvation."
