MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Tliomas Hudson, a seaman, and William George Hall, a labourer, were each fined 20s and costs by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, for fighting in Victoria Street. For drunkenness they were convicted and discharged. William Gordon, a labourer, aged 46, was fined 10s and costs, in default 24 hours' imprisonment, for his second offence of drunkenness.

A charge of unlawfully converting a motor-car on November 3, brought against Thomas Skatchill, a shop assistant, aged 29, was dismissed. For drunkenness he was fined 10s and costs.

Lying in the grave of Mrs. Kendal, the famous actress, is a sprig of rosemary from the gardens of Ellen Terry and Mary Anderson, two old friends of world fame.
