ANNUAL BAZAAR
The annual bazaar of the Berhampore Free Kindergarten was held on Friday and Saturday, and proved very successful in all respects, there being a large attendance of residents, and big busmess was done.
The function was declared open on Friday afternoon Try Mrs. R. McKeen, who was introduced by the president, Mrs. Dighton, and there v/ere also present several members of the Wellington Kindergarten Council.
On Friday evening musical arid variety items were presented by the Turner-Cottier String Orchestra, and Scottish dancing by Miss Menton and the pupils of Miss Dorothy Daniels, when the hall was crowded. The sideshows, "Miko," kindly lent by. Mr. C. Cabot, and the "Village Pump," attracted great attention. ~
The guessing competitions were in great demand, a knitted bed jacket, presented by Mrs McKeen, was won by Mrs. Dighton, s.s. Maunganui, and a wicker easy chair was won by Mrs. Murrell. Two photographs of the kindergarten, taken by "The Post," were on exhibition and greatly admired, and several orders for copies were booked, and the committee intimated that orders may be booked at the kindergarten during the week. At the close of the bazaar on Saturday evening the committee expressed its hearty appreciation to all those who had assisted in making the function such a success.
