SMITH—PLAYER

Constance Mary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Player, was married on Saturday to James Robert, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Smith, Lower Hutt, in St. James Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. E. K. Fry. " '■•'•.

The church; was beautifully decorated by. members of the Girls' Club (of which the bride was a member) with bright spring. flowers and greenery. The bride, .who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely gown of parchment satin, fitting closely and forming a graceful train. The gown was slightly split from the hemline in i the front, and the back, was opened with tiny buttons lining one side. I The sleeves werp full to the elbow, I then fitting tightly to the wrist. Her long veil of parchment silk net was caught to the head with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids. Miss Jean Arroll (Napier), Miss Lorraine Player (cousin of the bride), and Miss Margaret Smith (sister of the bridegroom), wore pretty frocks of parchment crepe with blue velvet bows and long sashes. Blue velvet head- i bands added a soft touch. They wore I crystal necklets, the gifts of the bridegroom, and carried shower bouquets of apricot roses and fern. Mr. John Werry was best man. The reception was held in the R.S.A. Hall. Mrs. Player wore a blue figured dress with a three-quarter length coat, and hat to match. Mrs. Smith wafe in a navy blue and wlute ensemble with hat to match. The hall was beautifully decorated with masses of flowers. i The bride (ravelled in a beige cos- j tume, a peasant blouse, and beige straw ' hat. | | Mr. and Mrs. James Smith's future ■ home will be in Lower Hult.
