The return of classes" at the Wellington Technical College shows that there has been an increase of individual students over that for. October, 1934. The variation since 1930' in the "total of individual students for the October.returns is shown by the following figures:—l93o, 3017; 1931, 2771, decrease 246; 1932;-2737, decrease 34; 1933, 2687, decrease 50; 1934, 2810,. increased 123; 1935, 2946, increase 136.'.' ; . . .' "It will thus be seen that gradually there is' a steady return to the .conditions prevailing at the beginning of the depression," said the director (Mr. R. G. Ridlingi). "Although there seems to'have been a big fallin'the>Tiumber attending in the High School the actual, position. ■ when compared with 1934 is not very different. This shows j that the percentage of individual enrolments attending is as follows: —

1934 1935 ' Technical High. School 71.6 70.7 - Evening school 85.7 85.9 Art classes ............ 71.2 82.9. Totals ............ 78.8 79.7.. "There has been a considerable increase in the average attendance of students, showing they are taking a greater interest in their' work. The table' for 1934 and 1935 shows an average percentage in attendance lor 1934 to be 78 and the average percentage attendance for 1935 to be 79. The increase, in enrolments is fairly general in all classes, but there is still some slight decrease.shown in some of the trade classes and some of the examination classes." '
