SOME RECENT MEETINGS

Cleveland Lodge (Brooklyn).—Bro. G H Evans presided over a good attendance. Two members were reported sick, one member was admitted on transfer, and one candidate was initiated • Bro. G. H. Evans was elected a trustee, vice Bro. N. Cooper, resigned. Arrangements were made to play St. Alovsius Branch, H.A.C.8.5., at next meeting for the U.F.S. "500" shield. Two members were granted permission to take degrees at-District Lodge. The following officers were installed by the D D G.M. (Bro. R. J. Mathers) and staff:—W. Andrews, N.G.; W. Smith, secretary; A. McCormac, recording secretary; C. Turner, treasurer; E. Piper, warden; W. Elliott, conductor; J. C. Wilkinson, chaplain; G. N. Evans, R S S • F. Taylor, L.S.S.; H. H. Coote, PD.D.G.M., R.S.N.G.; W Lear, L.S.N.G.; E Mason; R.S.V.G.; A. E Blair, L5.V.G.; W. Chamberlain, 1.G.; and J. Pridmore, O.G. The Grand Warden (Bro. G. F. Rudkin) and the DD.G.M. extended official congratulations, and presented Bros. E. Piper, J. C. Wilkinson, and H-. Clayton with Past Grand certificates on behalf ,of the lodge. He also presented the lodge with the District Membership Shield and Gavel. Bros. F. J. Jones, Grand Chaplain, and G. Gordon, G.L.Rep., Nelson, also tendered congratulations. Onslow Lodge (Khandallah) .—Bro. G. Farrelley, N.G., presided over a good attendance. An official visit was received from the Grand Warden (Bro. G. F. Rudkin), the D.D.G.M. (Bro". R. J. Mathers), and Bros. A. Evans, F. Phillips, and A. Ryan. Several social invitations and accounts were dealt with. The D.D.G.M. and staff installed the following officers for the ensuing term:—A. E. Hodgson, V.G.; A. V. Thompson, secretary; J. P. Thompson, recording secretary; A. J. Holloway, treasurer; H. A. Thomas, conductor; V Clothier, warden; O. W. C. Pedersen, chaplain; W. H. W. C. Pedersen with a Past Grand's jewel. Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge. ■ —Sis. L. G. Hope, N.G., presided over a large attendance, visitors including the Grand Warden (Bro. G. F. Rudkin), Sis. M. Sergent, L.D.D.G.M., Sis. V Newport (Welcome Rebekah Lodge, : Nelson), and officers of Victoria, ■ Esther, Rahiri, and Ngaio Rebekah Lodges.
