HELD

As a result of the report submitted to last night's meeting of the management committee, of the' Hutt Valley Cricket Association by the sub-com-mittee set up to discuss with representatives of the Wellington -Cricket-As-" sociatiori the question of affiliation' with the latter body, it was decided to call a special meeting of delegates to consider the matter. It was stated in the report that several conferences had been held between the two sub-committees, and as a consequence the Hutt Valley representatives found themselves in favour of affiliation.. It had been made clear by the Wellington Association that if it were decided to affiliate no fee be charged. . The question •of coaching had also been discussed and it had been pointed out by Mr. Broad, chairman of the Wellington Association's management committee, that the scheme which • operated in Auckland, whereby the. centre's coach put in one night a week with the affiliated association, could1 be put into effect in Wellington. It was further reported that representative games with Wairarapa and other associations would be arranged through the Wellington Association arid that Hutt Valley players would be given consideration in the selection of Plunket Shield teams. The matter of wickets for representative matches in'the Hutt Valley had also come under discussion, and the possibilities were that one of the Wellington Association's grounds would be available for such games. SHORTAGE OF GROUNDS. A decision to postpone some of the B and C grade matches in the Hutt Valley Association's competitions for next Saturday v/as announced. Mr. H. N. Jones (secretary) reported that he had interviewed Mr. A. Morgan, caretaker of trie North and McEwan Parks, who had informed him that the wickets on those reserves would not be playable on Saturday. Mr. Jones said the trotting meeting debarred them from the use of the Hutt Park wickets. This left only seven available wickets. It was agreed to commence A grade matches and to play the C grade fixture between Trafalgar Park B and Central, and also to play two B grade matches this week, at Naenae Reserve.

The following transfers were approved:—J. Naysmith, Wills to Central; W. Tyrrall, Randwick to Trafalgar Park; N. Wiggins, Randwick to Trafalgar Park; R. Brown, Randwick to Meadows; W. J. Hollis, Taita A to Taita B.
