Lower grade matches resulted as follows:— Second Grade. Kilbirnie 37 (Wilson 11 not out) and 24 for one wicket, met Stop Out, 128 (Thomas 33, Saunders 33, Mason 27, E. Moore 22 not out). Bowling for Stop Out, Sandholm took four wickets for 13 runs, Cummings three for 3, E. Moore three for 14 and 1 for 6. For Kilbirnie, Wilson took three for 22, Lubransky two for 14, Allen one for 3, Clarke two for 41, Rooke one for 29. Wellington College Old Boys, 210 (Bush 54, Ronaldson 43, Wiggs 39), met Hutt, 56 for two (Wall 34 not out). Bowling for Hutt, Aldersley took two wickets for 23 runs. Midland, 121' (Fay 35 not out, Henderson 28, Gerindvan 23, Cautlay 11), met Technical Old Boys, 172 for seven (W. Dyer 52, Gilbert 32, Bonmor 24, Churchill 17, Rennie 17 not out, Hutchinson 11). Bowling for Technical Dyer took five wickets for 40 runs, and Body four for 41. Wellington, 116 (Mac Donald 27, Rose 14), met Institute, 187 for four (A. McLean 39, J. Scott 56 not out, Bilby 25 not out). Bowling for Institute, Fortune took four wickets for 45 runs and Henderson three for 27. Junior A. Hutt, 168 (Sissons 69, Muir 24, Doig 23), met Midland, three for 14. Bowling for Midland, Gates took four wickets for 35 runs, Hunt four for 54. Petone East, 121 and five for 44, met Hutt B, 68 (Raine 24, Andrews 17) Bowling for Hutt, Andrews took four wickets for 51 runs. For Petone East Raine took two for 6, Cleverley six for 28, A. Howe four for 30. College, 120 (Mackay 36. Joplin 24) met Kilbirnie, 92 (Morris 39, Phillips 17, Christoohersen 15). Bowling for Kilbirnie, Brownlee took four wickets for 51 runs, Taylor three for 22. and Christophersen three for 17. For College. Nelson took five for 15.
