Big River Gold Mines, Limited, reports for week ending October 17: — South stope is again- beaten out and filling commenced. North winze sunk 3 feet, total 33 feet, stone 4 feet wide; centre winze, , sinking not continued this week; south winze sunk 3 feet, total 55 feet, stone 4 feet wide, working one shift. North level advanced 6 feet, stone 1 foot 6 inches wide. Shaft: The second set of bearers have been placed in position on the 84£t mark (from No. 4 chamber). The shaft timbered for 6 feet above bearers and filling cavity (300 cubic feet) commenced. Sent to battery, 40 tons of stone.
