Arrangements have been made by the Council of Victoria . The address will be illustrated by cinematograph films and lantern slides depicting scenes- in Southern Arabia, a district in which Dr. Thomas carried oui his remarkable explorations in 1931 when, alone and in the guise of a nomad Arab, he traversed for the first time the desert of Rub' al Khali, hitherto a terra incognita to Western civilisation. Long experience in the East, in Irak, Muscat, and Mesopotamia lias given Dr. Thomas a remarkable insight into the! customs and life of this part of the world.
