LEVIN CLUB
The Levin Tennis Club was officially opened on Saturday afternoon in fine weather, there being a good attendance of members and the public. The president of the club, Dr. S. J. Thompson, performed the opening ceremony, and called on Mr. P. W. Goldsmith, Mayor of Levin, to present trophies won last season. The 1934-35 competition winners were:—Men's championship: Senior, T. Touhy; runner-up, S. J. Thompson; junior, K. Lemmon; runner-up, J. Porter. Women's championship: Mrs. .N. M. Thomson; runner-up, Mrs. Astley. Men's doubles championship: S. J. Thompson and S. Wilson. Women's doubles championship: Miss Kerr and Mrs. Porter. Mixed doubles: N. M. Thomson and Mrs. Thomson. Men's singles handicap: V. G. Astley. Women's singles handicap: Miss Nicholson. Men's handicap doubles: T. Touhy and N. M. Thomson. Women's handicap doubles: Miss Kerr and Mrs. Porter. Mixed handicap doubles: Miss Palmer and T. Touhy.
