ENGLISH SIRE AT PERTH
Sansofine, who is expected to be a decided acquisition to the breeding indilstry. in .Western Australia, and who was purchased .by Mr. A. E. Cockram, of Perth, was landed at Frejnantle early last month from the motor-ship Taranaki, which arrived from the United Kingdom. The stallion appeared in excellent condition in spite of the trying voyage. '•..'■ .. Sansofine is a three-year-old (English time), by Sarisovino (by Swynford) from Fifine; by Sunstar from Fifinella, by Polymelus from ■ Silver Fowl, by Wildfowler.: He is. a full brother to Portflho. who is on the Warlaby Stud in Victoria. Last year he defeated a large field 'in a two-year-old maiden race at Newmarket. In response to a further application by Jockey A. Gilmer, who was suspended for three months for interference in the Wellington Steeplechase last July, the Wellington district committee has reduced the term to expire today, enabling Gilmer to resume riding at Paeroa tomorrow.
