MR. P. M. BUTLER AT , ••. BROOKLYN, : A' largely rattended .-meeting-..'of friends and supporters met rthe :Labour candidate for the. Suburbs iseat,' Mr. P. M. Butler, at St. ; Matthew's Hall. Brooklyn, last evening. Mr. E. Holland presided. " l Mr. Butler gave an outline; of the policy of the Labour Party, . and stated that the contest was : not between individuals, but between policies. He discussed the" rehabilitation of the unemployed, and dwelt at some length with the effects of high 'exchange. Mr. Butler said that the object of the Labour Party in regard-to the unemployed was to get them back to honest payment for honest work. A resolution was carried unanimously recording the confidence of those present in the Labouc Party and pledging them to" do their "utmost to secure the return of the party to power. A committee was formed to advance Mr. Butler's candidature, all present becoming members. ." . At an earlier meeting of ladies, an. address was given by. Mr. .Walter Nash, M.P., and a resolution similar to that adopted at the:;main:'meetinp was carried. . . :' : .
