Emergency .trains reached Auckland yesterday afternoon .with the passengers, mails, and goods transferred from the expresses from Wellington and Ne\y Plymouth, which were .held ; up by the landslide between Ongarue and Te Koura. The line "was cleared at 3.30 p.rri:, the situation being well handled by the Railway Department which transhipped about; 700 passengers and six vans of goods over the landslide without incident. . .

The ordinary express left for' Wellington at 3, o'clock yesterday afternoon, and* the Limited express at 7 o'clock last evening. .-

The ordinary express-to. Auckland yesterday was five and a-half hours late, and the Limited was six hours late at; Auckland. ;'THe' Limited from Auckland arrived, at Wellington at 5.30 p.m., nearly; eight hours late.

Amongst the southern delayed passengers was the basketball North Auckland team. Passengers v were transferred between - the ■ trains^ which were brought close to the slip.'
