LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
KARORI BRANCH MEETS
The annual meeting of the Karori branch of the League of Mothers was held in the Methodist Schoolroom this week. The hall was beautifully decorated with bowls of primulas and spring flowers. The lovely day added to the brightness.
Mrs. Guthrie (retiring president) was made the recipient of an exquisite basket of flowers from the committee, decorated by Mrs. Farquhar. Mrs. Wood, the new president, voiced the appreciation of all members of the splendid work Mrs. Guthrie had done for the league for the last seven years as its president. The league was fortunate in now having Mrs. Guthrie still interested in the work as a vicepresident.
Mrs. Page and Mrs. Jack were also re-elected as vice-presidents; Mrs. Robt. Gunn. was re-elected secretary, Mrs. Farquhar hon. treasurer, and Mrs. McNeely magazine secretary. The committee members appointed were Mesdames Ambrose, Beale, Bruce, Downand, Fisher, Hart", King, Lankshear, Laird, Marklew, Rutherford, Henderson, Edgar, Urquhart, 'Hudson, Radcliffe, McNaughton, Thompson, McLeod, Watson, and Bruce.
A delightful programme of music followed, and great pleasure was given by the following:—Mrs.- Middleton (songs), Mrs. Craig (pianoforte solos), and Mrs. Plowden-Wardlaw (songs).
A delicious afternoon tea was served was the committee.
