Owing to exceptional weather about 700 yards of spoil came 'down last night across the Main Trunk Line, about twelve miles north, of Taumarunui and 264 miles from Wellington. The only one of the expresses to get through unaffected was the 3 p.m. from . Auckland, which arrived at Wellington this morning on time. -. :;

A report from the Railway Department early this afternoon stated that the Limited from Auckland left Ohakune 8 hours 10 minutes late and that it was expected to arrive in Wellington about 5.30 this evning. The Limited from Wellington is expected to arrive at Auckland about six hours late.

It is expected to have the slip cleared this afternoon.
