A Press Association message' "from Ashburton states that the final, selection of a Labour- candidate for the Ashburton seat has not yet been made The name of Mr. H. E. Herring' who" was stated, on Saturday, to^have been chosen as the official candidate has been forwarded, together with the ™mJ?s of Messrs. J. J. Phaup and R. W. Wightman, to Labour headquarters in Wellington for final choice.
