Em Jacobs, the Wellington boxer who met -Harold Reeve in the Town Hall on Thursday night, commenced his professional career in Australia a little -over a year ago. Before he returned home he had 21 contests,
eleven in 1934 and ten this'-year. • The matches were:; May, 1934,idrew Vith Billy Mack, four. rounds; i drew with Tommy O'Keefe (four); June, defeated Syd. Gray (four); drew with Chris. Richards (six); defeated Syd. Seymour, k.o. (two); July, lost to Neil Johnson (four); lost to Jim Davidson (four); October, lost to Syd. Powell, k.o. (nine); November, lost'to "Broncho" Eldridge (eight); December, defeated Bobby Burns (six); lost to "Wokks" Britt (ten); January, 1935, defeated Jack Gordon (six); February, defeated "Broncho" Eldridge, k.o: (five);; April, defeated- Ken McDermott (four); defeated Bobby- Burns (six); lost to "Wokks" Britt (six); lost to "Wokks" Britt (six); lost to "Broncho" Eldridge. (six); "lost to Henry Maloney (eight). Jacobs then 'came over to New Zealand with a view of annexing the middleweight title which "Harry Lister had forfeited through remaining out of the: Dominion more than six months. In May he defeated both: M. O'Brien and "Kid" Fisher on points; in June he defeated O'Brien again (the bout was intended to be for the middleweight title but Jacobs was over-weight); last month he was beaten by Ray Nicol in a bout for the light-heavyweight title and defeated Jack. Ford. This month he has beaten Les Brander and dropped a decision to Harold Reeve. ' -
