(six); "lost to Henry Maloney (eight). Jacobs then 'came over to New Zealand with a view of annexing the middleweight title which "Harry Lister had forfeited through remaining out of the: Dominion more than six months. In May he defeated both: M. O'Brien and "Kid" Fisher on points; in June he defeated O'Brien again (the bout was intended to be for the middleweight title but Jacobs was over-weight); last month he was beaten by Ray Nicol in a bout for the light-heavyweight title and defeated Jack. Ford. This month he has beaten Les Brander and dropped a decision to Harold Reeve. ' -
