A LOAN DISPUTED

The sum of £10 lent to, David Doig for getting his teeth out was disputed by Doig in the Petone Court yesterday, when Mrs. E. Dennison sought judgment for that amount.; Mr.; H. P. Lawry.S.M., was on .the Bench.

He'did not pay her back the. £JO, which was the amount involved. She wrote to'■him," but'he ignored the letters, on the advice of his previous girl friend.

"You know our intentions'were to get married," said Doig to the witness.

"Not at that time," was tliei-eply.

Leslie Norman Dennison, husband of the plaintiff, said he called with his wife to see about getting the money back, and Doig said he would do his best to pay back the £10.

Doig, in evidence, said that when he was going; with Mrs. ; Denmson she was single, and lie had been in hospital. He was out of work at the time, and when he said he wanted to get his teeth out, Mrs. Dennison advised him to do so and she would pay for it. He said he would pay her back as soon as he,got .work, but, she told him not .to pay her back. He took the money as a gift and not as a loan. Later they parted company. Judgment was given for the plaintiff..
