COMPENSATION CLAIMS
, The Arbitration Court yesterday concluded the hearing of a claim for £1000 compensation made by John Wood Henderson, engineer, of Gore, against the Southland Electric Power Board for head injuries alleged to have been sustained by him while in the employ of the board on May 4, 1934. After the evidence of Dr. E. W. Giesen had been taken, . Mr. G. G. Watson addressed the Court on behalf of the Power Board, and Mr. J. C. Mowat, of Dunedin, on behalf of plaintiff. ■ The Court reserved judgment. The hearing of the claim of Charles Cicely, a fireman, for compensation made against the Gear Meat Preserving and Freezing Company, Ltd M was resumed. The plaintiff alleged that while in the employ of the company, firing boilers, he strained his heart. After hearing medical evidence given by Dr. F. T. Bowerbank, the further hearing was adjourned till Monday afternoon, when further evidence will be taken. . On Monday r crning, the hearing of applications in connection with the female hairdressers', " the male hairdressers', and the furniture trades disputes will be dealt with. The Court will conclude its Wellington sittings on Tuesday.
