CONTROL OF CORPORATION

(Eeceived July 31, 11.45 a.m.)

LONDON, July 30.

In reply to a question in the House of Commons, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Walter Elliot, said that the amalgamated sugar corporation would be owned by the companies, but would be subject to comprehensive control. The result would be a reduction in the contribution by the State, but he was unable to give the exact amount. The plan contained provi-. sions against excessive profits.

An Empire conference and international negotiations will be directed to the problem of the low price of sugar.
