ALL-AUSTRALIA TOURNEY

NEW ZEALAND IN FRONT

MELBOURNE, July 30.

In the All-Australia women's hockey tournament New Zealand is leading on points. Today New Zealand defeated South Australia, • 3-0.

The New Zealand team was: Mesdames Reid and O'Connor, Misses Cotter, Mackie, Gudsell, Sanson. McDonald, McKenzie, Saville, Dahlberg, and Woolley. . :

New Zealand opened the attack, and the fast forward line was responsible for clever stickwork. The first goal was scored as the result of a short fol-low-up shot by Mrs. Reid. The second was scored by Miss Dahlberg, playing left-inner in place of Miss Mackie, who went to half-back. ,

With the score 2-0 at half-time, South Australia made a determined effort, but, - despite clever passing and accurate positional play, they were unable to' score. Miss McKenzie added another goal for New Zealand.

Western Australia defeated Victoria, 2-1. - , -, ■ .
