QUEEN CARNIVAL

This week marks the closing of the Queen Carnival in aid of the Hutt Valley V.M.C.A., and the Ladies' Auxiliary, in conjunction with a citizens' committee, has planned a street day in the Lower Hutt for Friday of this week, the proceeds to be in aid of the Gold Queen, Miss Kathleen Kempthorne.

Stalls of varied goods will be in evidence, and an energetic band of helpers, under the direction of the Mayoress, will wait upon citizens for donations, however small. The effort, to, be held wet or fine, will, it is hoped, help considerably the funds needed to help equip and furnish the new building.

The organising secretary, Mrs. H. W. Kersley, would esteem it a favour if all donations are paid in by Friday. Many have already dune so in reply to- requests sent out.
