SIR DANIEL IMPRESSIVE

Four years ago Flower Bag, then known as Talkative, won the lightweight steeplechase at the Waverlby point-to-point in a manner that pointed strongly to his subsequent successes. Nevertheless it is doubtful whether his win on that occasion was any more impressive than that of Sir Daniel in the same event last Saturday, writes "Hurry On." ; Giving a dashing display of jumping, it could easily be seen before even half the journey had been covered that Sir Daniel had the race at his mercy. He was just lobbing along and, after jumping the second double, he was given his head. Over the last halfmile it was a case- of Sir Daniel first and the rest nowhere.

Unfortunately, Sir Daniel is not a good doer, but his condition on Saturday certainly did his owner, Miss C. Walkington, a great deal of credit. She may send Sir Daniel to New Plymouth for the women's steeples on August 3. It is certainly a pity that he is not a better doer as there are big possibilities about him, for he is well bred, being by Danilof from Ristori.
