"WEST POINT OF THE AIR."

At the De Luxe Tomorrow.

. With the shrill scream of zooming aeroplanes as a background, Wallace Beery comes to the De Luxe screen in the startling aviation spectacle, "West Point of the Air,", which opens tomorrow. Just as "Hell Divers" was the great air epic of the United States navy, so is the new picture a breathtaking revelation of "Uncle Sam's" strength in the Air Corps training centres of the army. Beery in his role of "Big Mike" gives a dramatic portrayal that surpasses even his performance ir. "The Champ." His pathetic love for a son (Robert Young) whose conceit almost brings disgrace to the Air Corps builds into the foundation for one of the most smashing screen climaxes ever filmed. Heading the supporting cast as the young romantic lead 'is Maureen - O'Sullivan. She gives a freshness and vitality to her performance that will win many admirers. The most important role since his success in "The Sin of Madtlon Claudet" is filled by Robert Young as "Little Mike," Bcery's son. He gives a notable performance as a young man whose ego interferes with good sense until parental love helps him to find nimself. Rosalind Russell and Lewis Stone are others in the cast. There is an excellent supporting programme of special Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer featur*ues, which include a musical coloured cartoon, "Bosko's Parlour Pranks," a Thelma Todd-Patsy Kelly comedy, "Opened by Mistake," and n Metrotone newsreel. Barrio Brettoner will present a new bracket of numbers at the Wurlitzer organ.
