FINES AT DANNEVIRKE

DANNEVIRKE, This Day.

Members of the committee of the military ball held recently at Dannevirke were charged today with soiling beer and wine without being licensed to do so. The defendants were officers and non-commissioned officers.

The facts briefly were that the liquor was bought by the defendants and served as refreshments at the dance without charge to the pa'irons, who had paid admission. It was stated that it was dispensed to popularise the dance.

The defendants pleaded guilty and ■v^ere each fined £1, with costs 11s.
